As part of its mission to drive digital transformation among cooperative members, Young Rise Up Co. Ltd officially launched a pilot project for Smartphone Distribution on Credit in Gicumbi District.
In this pilot phase, the company successfully distributed smartphones to 100 cooperative members, including farmers from the Tea Growers’ Cooperative at Mulindi (MTG) and members of COOTHEVM. The event was held in partnership with their cooperative leaders and representatives from COOPEC Ishema SACCO – MTG branch.
This groundbreaking initiative was carried out under the collaboration and support of key partners including the Rwanda Cooperative Agency (RCA), FERWACOTHE, and other stakeholders committed to financial and digital inclusion.
The project is aimed at promoting access to digital tools through flexible credit terms, enabling cooperative members to benefit from mobile money services, digital communication, and e-governance platforms. The pilot will inform the nationwide rollout to reach more communities in the near future.
